Set on a hillside overlooking the Brazilian coastline, the Ubatuba House raises above the grade to allow for its simple geometric shape. The main house is comprised of a 10m by 10m by 6m concrete box, with the open bottom space serving as a veranda, the floor above housing the kitchen and living areas, bed and bathrooms on the floor above that, and the rooftop serving as a welcoming area. Two smaller volumes create a parking area, custodian house, mechanical space, and swimming pool, the latter on the same level as the veranda, from which a winding path leads down to the beach.
