Colorful Doors in Aveiro, Portugal

In the streets of Aveiro in Portugal, Catarina Soares captures the typical architecture of the city. The neighborhood of Beir-Mar is especially famous for its similar houses which only differentiate through colors and materials. For this series entitled “True Colors”, the Portuguese artist took an interest in doors. After her urban peregrinations, she organized her photographs in groups of four in order to create colorful mosaics. Through this format, the artist hilights the beauty and diversity of those doors, symbols of the passing of time.
