Social Housing in Mieres, Spain

It is necessary to address the project to the study of functional conditions of the housing unit. The proposal sets out a dwelling protected by two galleries, and free in its interior. Mechanical and wet spaces appear together building a technique “wall” which allows cross ventilation and versatile spaces.

Abandoned Kennicott Copper Mining Town, Alaska

The old mining town of Kennicott in the US state of Alaska is located on the south slopes of Wrangell mountain close to the Kennicott Glacier, about five miles up from the small town of McCarthy. While McCarthy has a year-round population of about two dozen people, Kennicott is totally deserted.

The government has let Belgium and Norway put prisoners in empty cells and now, amid the huge flow of migrants into Europe, several Dutch prisons have been temporarily pressed into service as asylum-seeker centers.
