The neighborhood of La Boca, in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires, is famous for two things — the football stadium La Bombonera, and El Caminito, a short pedestrian street paved with cobblestone where artists sell their wares and tango dancers prance along the sidewalk providing photo opportunities for tourists. The Bolwoningen Apartments

The Bolwoningen which can be translated as either “ball” or “bulb” apartments were built in 1984 by artist and sculptor Dries Kreijkamp. He created an experimental settlement consisting of houses that resemble extraterrestrial buildings in the neighborhood of medium-sized town Den Bosch in the Netherlands. Continue reading

The Happiest House in The World

A house that looks alive and jolly is not only possible in cartoons. This fanciful one-of-a-kind architectural piece was built in Braunschweig (or Brunswick), Germany at the beginning of the millennium. The main culprit for the Rizzihaus was the Brooklyn pop-artist James Rizzi, famous for his characteristic chromatic pop-art genius. Continue reading
